What Is Counting Cards in Blackjack?

Blackjack is a popular casino game that involves players betting on whether they will get a higher or lower total number of cards than their opponent. In order to win, the player must have a higher total number of cards.

When playing blackjack, the player is dealt two cards face down, and then must either put money into the pot or count cards. The player then flips over the top card of their deck and looks at it.

If the card is higher than the card previously flipped over, then the player counts that as one point and adds it to their current hand total. If the card is lower than the previous card, then the player does not count that as a point and instead subtracts it from their current hand total.

If at any time the player has a hand totaling 21 or more points, they are considered to be “sitting in” and are not allowed to take any more money or cards. If at any time the player has a hand totaling 10 through 19 points, they are considered to be “standing in” and can take money and cards as desired.

If at any time the player has a hand totaling 0 through 9 points, they are considered to be “drawing” and can take money and cards as desired.
