Are Poker Rooms Open in Las Vegas Yet?

Poker rooms have yet to open in Las Vegas. This is due to the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) and the Nevada Department of Gaming (NVDG) agreeing to new regulations that must be met before any poker rooms can open.

The NGC has stated that each poker room must have a minimum $5 million in capital, employ a minimum of 25 people, and have a security plan that meets state and federal requirements. The NVDG has stated that poker rooms must also have a physical location within the state of Nevada, and they cannot be owned or operated by any entity that is not licensed by the NVDG.

The final regulations will be released in June, and it is possible that the first poker rooms will open in 2019. Until then, there are several online poker sites that offerLas Vegas players the opportunity to play against other players from all over the world.
