Roulette tables have been subject to accusations of being rigged for centuries. The first accusation was made in the 18th century by an analyst named Jean-Baptiste Bouchon.
He claimed that the wheel on a roulette table was weighted so that it would always land on black. This would give the player with black chips a statistically significant advantage over the other players.
In the late 1800s, another analyst, Charles de Rouletabille, claimed that roulette wheels were deliberately designed to give away large sums of money to favored players. He even produced a document that purported to show how the wheel was rigged.
However, his claims were dismissed by experts at the time, and no evidence has ever been found to support them.
Today, allegations of roulette table rigging are rarer than they used to be. However, they continue to surface from time to time.
In 2007, for example, a group of French casino owners filed a lAWSuit against the French government alleging that officials were rigging their roulette tables in favor of certain casinos. The allegations were later dropped, but they created a media sensation at the time.
So is roulette table rigging actually happening in casinos? It’s difficult to say for sure. There are occasional reports of suspicious circumstances surrounding roulette games, but no definitive proof has ever been found that any tables are intentionally rigged.
In fact, most experts believe that Roulette is one of the most fair and unbiased games out there.
