Can Online Poker Be Trusted?

First and foremost, before anything else can be said about online poker, it must be noted that it is not regulated by any governing body. This means that there is no guarantee as to the fairness, security or legitimacy of any given online poker site.

In addition, there is no federal law that protects players in the event that they are cheated or hurt in some other way. This has led to an unfortunate amount of fraud and player abuse in the online poker world.

Despite these drawbacks, there are still plenty of people who believe that online poker can be trusted. Many experienced players believe that the skill level in most tournaments is high enough to offer a fair game.

Others feel that the structure and rules of online poker make it much less risky than traditional card games. Overall, however, it is clear that online poker remains a relatively untested medium and should be approached with caution by both players and casinos alike.
