Can You Hit After You Split Blackjack?

In the world of blackjack, there are a few cardinal rules that always apply. One of those is that if you hit, you must stand.

If you split, however, there are some exceptions to this rule.

If you have a natural (10, J, Q) and the dealer has a ten (2), you may hit if you have an improved blackjack (5 or 6). This means that your hand is better than the dealer’s and thus would be more likely to result in a win for you.

If the dealer has a two (1), however, you must split because your hand is not as good as the two.

In general, it is always best to play it safe and split any hands that are not sure wins or losses. This way, you will have more opportunities to win in the long run and avoid any potential losses.
