Did Vietcong Make Prisoners Play Russian Roulette?

The Vietcong apparently made prisoners play Russian roulette as a form of punishment. This is according to a report from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The report says that the Vietcong used this form of punishment on soldiers who had committed minor offenses. These offenses could include things like disobeying orders or not following orders properly.

The prisoners were usually made to sit in a circle with others who had also been sentenced to the roulette game. Each prisoner was then given a gun and asked to pick one of the other guns to shoot at.

If they picked the gun that was loaded, they would be shot. If they picked the gun that was not loaded, they would be released.

This form of punishment was reportedly used by the Vietcong throughout South Vietnam. It is unknown how many prisoners were actually made to play Russian roulette, but it is believed that it happened quite a bit.
