Multiple decks of cards are used in blackjack to create a more even playing field. The dealer pulls a single deck of cards from the shoe and discard any face down cards. This leaves the dealer with an Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The player then looks at their hand and decides whether it includes an Ace or not.
If the player has an Ace they can stand and if not they must draw a card. The player then turns over the next card in their hand and repeats the process until all cards are turned over. The new card that is turned over is added to the deck and the discard pile is reshuffled.
