Do Motherboards Have 2 NVMe Slots?

Do motherboards have 2 NVMe slots?

The short answer is that motherboards do not typically have 2 NVMe slots. This is because there are currently not enough NVMe devices available to support 2 simultaneous devices.

In fact, there are currently only a handful of laptops that have 2 NVMe slots, and most laptops only have 1 NVMe slot.

The long answer is that there are a few exceptions to this rule. For example, some motherboards have a second PCIe 3.0 x4 slot that can be used for an NVMe device.

Additionally, some high-end gaming laptop manufacturers may include an NVMe port on the motherboard so that you can install an NVMe device in addition to the regular hard drive. However, these are rare exceptions and should not be relied upon when making purchasing decisions.
