Do You Split 4s in Blackjack?

In blackjack, it is generally considered good strategy to split 4s (quadruplets), especially if the dealer is showing a high hand. A player who splits 4s will have a better chance of beating the dealer; however, this is not always the case.

If the player has aces, two pairs, three of a kind, or a straight, then it is generally better to hold on to their hand and not split 4s. If the player has two pair, three of a kind, or a single card that is not an ace (e.g.

two sixes), then they should split their 4s in order to increase their chances of winning.
