Do You Want the Count to Be High or Low in Blackjack?

In blackjack, the count (the number of cards remaining in the deck) is an important factor that can either help or hinder one’s chances of winning. Counts can be high or low, depending on whether the casino wants them to be.

When a casino wants the count to be high, they’ll usually keep more cards in their hand than necessary, in order to increase the likelihood of getting a higher count. This gives the player less opportunity to hit cards and increases their risk of losing.

Conversely, when a casino wants the count to be low, they’ll usually reduce the number of cards remaining in their hand, in order to decrease the likelihood of getting a high count and increase their risk of losing.

While counting can help or hinder one’s chances of winning, it ultimately comes down to chance. Ultimately, whether a count is high or low is up to the casino and player’s individual luck.
