Blackjack is a popular casino game that is played with a deck of 52 cards. The player, or “dealer,” begins by dealing two cards face down to each player, then drAWS one card. The player can either keep the card he or she has drawn, or play it as a blackjack. If the player plays the card and it is higher than the dealer’s hand, the player receives a score of 21 points.
If the card is lower than the dealer’s hand, then the dealer receives a score of 10 points. Aces count as 1 point, 2s through 10s count as face values, and a king (queen) counts as 11 points. Blackjacks are worth 21 points apiece. The game continues in this fashion until one player has acquired 21 points or more – at which point that player is said to have “beat” the other players and wins the round (or hands).
