How Do I Add Planning Poker in Jira?

Planning poker is a popular technique used in business planning. It can be added to Jira as a custom field or as an integrative tool. To add planning poker to Jira, first create a new project and add the following fields to the project:

Title: “Planning Poker”

Description: This is a project for planning poker.

Start Date: Date when the project began

End Date: Date when the project will be completed

Duration (in weeks): Estimated duration of the project, in weeks. This can be modified as needed.

Once these fields have been added, click on the Add Fields button on the left-hand side of the screen, and select Planning Poker from the list of available options. Enter the following information into the Planning Poker field:

Type: Custom Field

Duration (in weeks) : The duration of the project in weeks.

Players : The number of players involved in the planning process.

: The number of players involved in the planning process.

Game Types : A list of game types that could be used during the planning process, such as decision making, matrix analysis, and so on.

Variables : A list of variables that could affect decision making during planning poker games, such as budget constraints, customer needs, and so on. Click on Add at the bottom of this field to add variables to your game plan. You will then need to assign values to each variable using a drag-and-drop interface from within Jira’s Variables tab (see below). Note that if you are using Jira’s Kanban board feature (available in some editions of Jira), you will need to include columns for Work In Progress (WIP) and Done In Progress (DONE). After adding variables and assigning values to them, you will need to click on OK at the bottom of this field to save your game plan template.

You will then need to create a new game plan by clicking on New Game Plan at the bottom of this field and filling out all necessary information (see below). After creating your new game plan, you will need to assign it to a player by clicking on Assign Plan at the bottom of this field and filling out all necessary information (see below). Finally, you will need to test your game plan by clicking on Play Game at the bottom of this field and playing through it using one or more players in order for it to become fully functional (see below for more information about testing game plans). After testing your game plan is complete, you will need to save your changes by clicking on Save Changes at the bottom of this field and confirming your choice by clicking on OK at the bottom of this screen (see below).
