The Texas Hold’em Poker Association (THPA) is the governing body for poker in the state. The THPA sets the rules and regulations for all poker games in Texas.
They also certify poker rooms, monitor the game, and enforce the rules. .
There are currently 17 registered poker rooms in Texas. These poker rooms must adhere to all THPA rules and regulations, as well as any local ordinances that may be in effect.
In order to play at a Texas poker room, players must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license, and a credit card that is approved for gambling purposes.
The Texas Hold’em Poker Room Championship (THPRC) is the biggest tournament in Texas. It is open to players from all over the world, and features a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The THPRC is held at various venues throughout the state each year.
