How Do You Calculate Pot Odds in Poker?

There are three main ways to calculate pot odds in poker: preflop, flop, and turn.

Preflop pot odds are the simplest form of pot odds calculation. They simply divide the total amount of money in the pot by the number of players remaining in the hand.

For example, if there are three players left in a hand and the pot has $10 in it, preflop pot odds would be 10/3 or 3/1.

Flop pot odds are calculated by looking at both the cards that have been revealed and the position of those cards relative to each other. For example, if two players are in position A with a 3 and a 2 and a third player is in position B with a Queen and a Ace, the flop pot odds for player A would be (3 + 2) / 3 or 6/3.

Turn pot odds are calculated by looking at both the cards that have been revealed and what position those cards will end up in once all three rounds of betting have concluded. For example, if two players are in position A with a 3 and a 2 and a third player is in position B with an Ace, the turn pot odds for player A would be (2 + 3) / 4 or 7/4.
