In blackjack, players are dealt two cards face down, then a third card is turned over to be the “upcard.” The player either “plays” or “stands” according to their strategy. If the player plays, they turn over the top card of their deck and add it to their hand. The dealer then either plays or stands according to their strategy.
If the dealer plays, they turn over the next card and continue playing until they either pass or hit (or both players pass). If the dealer stands, the next player either plays or loses (the hand is over).
When counting cards in blackjack, there are a few different ways to do it. One way is to count each card as it’s turned over – 2, 3, 4, etc.
Another way is to use a specific numbering system – for example, the ace is 1 and all other cards are face values (2 through 10). Finally, some casinos use both methods – for example, you would count each card as it’s turned over and then use the corresponding number in your list.
