How Do You Count in Blackjack?

In blackjack, there are two basic ways to count: counting cards and point counting.

Counting cards is the most basic way to count. In this method, you simply keep track of the number of cards that are face up on the table.

When you have a total of 21 or more, you’re winning and when you have a total of 18 or less, you’re losing.

Point counting is a more advanced method that is more accurate than counting cards. In point counting, you add up the points value of each card that is face up on the table. For example, if there are aces (1 point), 2s (2 points), 3s (3 points), 4s (4 points), 5s (5 points), 6s (6 points) and 7s (7 points) on the table, then your point count would be 15. If there are two aces on the table, your point count would be 16.

If there are three aces on the table, your point count would be 18 and so on. When you have a total point count that is equal to or greater than 21, you’re winning and when your point count is less than 21, you’re losing.
