How Do You Determine Who Wins in Poker?

There is no single answer to this question as it depends on the specific game being played and the specific cards that are being used. However, some general principles can be outlined.

In most cases, the player with the best hand (a hand with at least one card of the same rank and a better card) will win the pot. In Draw Poker, for example, a player with a four of a kind (four cards of the same rank) will usually win the pot.

In Omaha Hi-Lo, Two-7 Draw and Seven-Card Stud, players with two of a kind (two cards of the same rank) or a full house (three of a kind, four of a kind or five of a kind) will usually win the pot.

In some cases, however, such as Three-Card Poker and Five-Card Draw, there are more than two possible winners. If there are three or more players remaining in a poker game and each has an equal chance of winning, then the pot will split evenly among them.
