Path of Exile is an online action role-playing game developed and published by Grinding Gear Games. It is a 3D game with a first-person perspective. Players control one of a selection of characters and explore the world, fighting monsters and completing quests to gain experience and power. Path of Exile offers players a choice between three character classes: Combatant, Ranger, and Shadow.
Each class has its own unique abilities and playstyle. Path of Exile is free-to-play, with microtransactions available for cosmetic items such as costumes.
Players can choose one of six available character slots when creating a new account. Characters are stored on an account-wide character sheet, and can be switched at any time between characters on the same account without penalty.
Players are not restricted to playing only six characters; they can create as many characters as they want and switch between them as they please.
To get six slots in Path of Exile, players must first complete the game’s first act, The Awakening. Completing this act awards players with the title “The First Born,” which gives them access to the game’s first race, the Firstborn.
