How Do You Play the Card Game Roulette?

If you’ve ever played the card game blackjack, you’re probably familiar with the concept of counting cards. Roulette is a popular casino game that relies on this same counting system.

To play roulette, you place a bet on one of the 36 numbered slots in the wheel. The numbers 1-36 are randomly selected and displayed on a screen in front of the roulette table.

As in blackjack, you can also make bets on different numbers (e.g., 18, 19).

Once you place your bet, the wheel is spun and the ball falls into one of the numbered slots. The player who picks up the ball wins whatever money is in that particular slot.

If there’s a number in between the bet and the number picked up by the ball (i.e., 5 is between 19 and 20), then that number is called “cover” and adds to your original bet.

The dealer then hands you another ball and the game begins again. The wheel continues to spin until someone either picks up all 36 balls or they lose all their money (i.e.

, they get “blackjacked”). At that point, the game is over and your final score is calculated based on your original bet and any cover numbers that were picked up during play.
