How Do You Play the Drinking Game Blackjack?

How to Play the Drinking Game Blackjack

The objective of the game is to score as many points as possible by playing cards until you reach a predetermined point value. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

To play, each player selects a card and places it face down in front of them. The dealer then deals two cards face up to each player, followed by another face down card.

The remaining cards are placed on the table in front of the dealer, stacked face down.

The player with the first card in their hand (the “hole card”) starts playing by either turning over the top card or revealing it if it’s a face card (10, Jack, Queen). If they turn over the top card and it’s a 10, they can either keep the card or exchange it for another card from their hand.

If they reveal the 10, they must exchange it for another card from their hand and blackjack is turned over to the next player. If they reveal any other number (5-9), that number becomes their new “hole” card and they redo everything from scratch – turning over the top card and revealing it if it’s a 10, or keeping it if it’s any other number.

If a player doesn’t have a hole card when their turn comes around, they must draw one from the deck and continue playing from there – regardless of what number is revealed. If a player has two hole cards at once (both 10s), for example, they would redo everything from scratch (turning over the top card and revealing it if it’s a 10, or keeping it if it’s any other number).

Once all players have had a turn, any cards remaining on the table are collected and added to your personal score. The next round of play begins with the dealer clockwise.

Play continues like this until one player has scored enough points to win. The game is over when one player has scored 21 points or more – no matter what else is happening in that round of play.
