How Do You Read Blackjack?

Reading Blackjack is an important skill for any casino player. The strategy used in blackjack is different than any other casino game, so it’s important to understand the rules and how to read the cards.

There are a few fundamental tips for reading blackjack:

1. Keep Track of Your Streaks – The first step in reading blackjack is keeping track of your streaks. This will help you determine your basic strategy.

If you have a winning streak, stick with your basic strategy. If you have a losing streak, try changing your strategy to fit the situation.

2. Use Basic Strategy – The second step in reading blackjack is using basic strategy. This will help you make more consistent plays and avoid mistakes. There are three basic strategies: Plus/Minus, Soft 17, and Hard 17.

Plus/Minus is the most common strategy, and it’s based on the assumption that the dealer will hit a soft 17 (a card that’s not a number or an Ace). Soft 17 players should stand if they have a seven or an eight in their hand, while Hard 17 players should hit if they have a seven or an eight. The third basic strategy is called Soft 19, and it’s based on the assumption that the dealer will hit a nine or ten. Players should stand if they have a two or three in their hand, while they should hit if they have a four or five.

3. Read Each Card As It Comes Out – After you know your basic strategy, it’s important to read each card as it comes out of the dealer’s hand.

This will help you make better decisions about whether to stay put or make a bet. When you see an Ace, for example, you might want to stay put and take another card; when you see a two or three, however, you might want to bet instead because those cards are likely to come up again soon.

4. Be Patient – In blackjack, as in most casino games, patience is key to success.

Don’t get too excited about your good luck and don’t get too discouraged when things don’t go your way; just keep playing according to your basic strategy and let the cards take care of themselves.
