How Do You Read Roulette?

The goal of this guide is to teach you how to read roulette so that you can make the most informed decisions when playing. Always remember to do your own research before playing any casino game, as different casinos have different rules and strategies.

When you enter a roulette table, the first thing you need to do is figure out which number corresponds to which column on the wheel. There are 18 numbers in a Roulette wheel and they are numbered 1-18.

The number in the column next to the number on the Roulette table is called “the point” and it represents how many numbers away from the center of the wheel that number is. The numbers on either side of the point are called “the numbers”.

Now that you know which number corresponds to which column, it’s time to figure out what color each number is. There are only two colors in Roulette – black and red – and each number can only be either black or red.

To figure out which color a number is, simply add up all of the numbers in that column, including the point. If the total amount of numbers in that column is odd, then the number will be black; if the total amount of numbers in that column is even, then the number will be red.

Once you know what color each number is, it’s time to start betting! Betting in Roulette starts with the player who chooses to place the first bet. That bet will determine how much money is put into play for that round of Roulette, and will also determine how many turns (or spins) are taken before betting can again be placed.

Roulette bets can range from as little as 1 cent up to as much as 100 times the amount wagered on a single spin.
