How Does Blackjack Payouts Work?

Blackjack is a casino game that is based on the card game of 21. The object of the game is to score points by taking cards that add up to 21, and then playing either a Soft 17 or Hard 17.

The basic payout structure for blackjack is as follows:

If the player has a Soft 17, the dealer gives them their original bet back and any additional cards that were played in the hand are added to the player’s total. If the player has a Hard 17, the dealer adds 2 to their original bet and any additional cards that were played in the hand are added to their total.

There are a few variations on this basic payout structure, but they all end up giving players the same basic payout in theory. The important thing to remember is that blackjack pays out according to how many cards are in your hand, not how many points you score.

This means that even if you have a Hard 17 and get hit with a 6, you will still get your original bet back plus 2 additional cards.
