How Does the House Make Money on Blackjack?

In most cases, the house makes money on blackjack by taking a percentage of the wagers made by players. The percentage taken can vary from place to place, but is typically in the neighborhood of 2-5%.

For example, if a player bets $10 and the house takes $2 from that bet, the house has made a $8 profit.

However, there are also some blackjack variants where the house does not take any money from the player’s wagers. In these variants, the house instead relies on drAWS (where all players get a hand without having to put any money down) or payouts (where players who lose their hands receive cash payments).

These variants tend to be more volatile and therefore may not make as much money for the house as variants where players are forced to put money down.
