There are 52 cards in a deck of playing cards.
The dealer gives each player two cards face down, then turns over the next card to show the player’s three remaining cards.
The player either takes the first card or “push” (put money into) the pot. If the first card is a ten, the player pushes; if it is any other card, the player takes the card and adds it to their hand.
If the first two cards are both tens, then there is a “ten-spot,” and the player can either take another card or push again. If both of the player’s first two cards are not tens, they must either take another card or “split” (put money into) both hands and lose whatever was put in the pot so far.
If at any time during play one of the players has no more cards, that player loses automatically.
