When you sit down at a roulette table, the dealer will give you a number list. This list will have numbers from 1 to 36.
In addition, there are zero and double zero Roulette tables which have 38 numbers each. .
If you want to bet on a single number, choose the number from the number list that corresponds to your bet amount. If you want to bet on multiple numbers, choose the number from the number list that corresponds to the highest number in your bet amount.
If you are playing black, then before you place your bet, the dealer will give you a card which is known as “the red jack.” If you are playing with red or black chips, then after you place your bet, the dealer will give you another card known as “the black jack.”
Once you have placed your bet and received your cards, it is important to follow these simple steps in order to play Roulette correctly:
1) Look at your cards and decide which one of them corresponds to the number that is listed on one of the numbered wheel segments.
2) Take that particular wheel segment and hold it between your thumb and first two fingers while looking at it carefully. This is known as “covering” that segment.
3) Spin the wheel by gripping its edge with both hands and slowly turning it around. As it begins to come to a stop, release it so that it spins freely in either direction.
Keep an eye on the numbered wheel segments and make sure that they all correspond with the numbers on your cards. If they don’t match up, then you have lost your bet and must re-spin the wheel until everything matches up correctly.
4) Once everything matches up correctly, lift off one of the wheel segments so that it is visible above the table and place it back down so that it covers one of the empty space spots on the table again. Now continue playing according to step 5).
