When you place a bet at a casino, you are betting on one of 36 numbers that will be displayed on the roulette wheel. The wheel has a number of sections, or “ranks,” and each section has a different number of numbers. The wheel is spun around and the ball is dropped into one of the numbered slots. The player then has to guess which number the ball has dropped into.
If the player guesses correctly, he or she receives the amount wagered on that bet plus any interest that may have been accrued. If the player guesses wrong, he or she loses all the money wagered on that bet and any interest that may have accrued.
