How Many Spell Slots Do You Get When Multiclass?

As you multiclass, you may be wondering how many spell slots you get to use. This answer depends on the class you are multiclassing into and the spells that the class can cast.

The table below lists the number of spell slots a character gets by multiclassing into various classes. The number of spell slots is determined by what class the character is multiclassing into, not by the total number of levels in all of their classes. For example, a 3rd-level character who is multiclassing into a wizard and a fighter will have three spell slots (two for wizard spells and one for fighter spells).

A 4th-level character who is multiclassing into a wizard and a bard will also have three spell slots (two for wizard spells and one for bard spells). However, a 3rd-level character who is multiclassing into a wizard and a rogue will only have two spell slots (one for wizard spells and one for rogue spells).
