How Much Do You Win Per Hand in Blackjack?

In blackjack, the player is typically dealt two cards face down. The player then either “holds” (keeps) the two cards or “flips” them over, revealing their value. If the player holds the two cards, they are then dealt another card. If the player flips over one of the cards and it is a higher value than the other card, they are said to have “committed” (or “put”) money and are given a new hand of cards.

If the player flips over both cards and one is higher than the other, they have “scored” (or “put”) money and receive a new hand of cards with that same number on one of the new cards. The game is won when the player either collects (or “tricks”) all 25 coins in a single hand, or collects (or “tricks”) more money than their opponent in two hands combined. In general, if the player has a higher number on one of their new cards than their opponent does on their original card, they have scored and are awarded additional money.
