How Much Does It Cost to Enter the World Series of Poker Main Event?

The World Series of Poker Main Event is the most prestigious poker tournament in the world. It is a nine-week long event that offers a total of $10 million in prize money.

The first place player will receive $7,318,818 while the second place player will receive $3,045,738. The final prize pool for the Main Event is $27,143,598.

To enter the Main Event, players must first qualify by winning one of the five qualifying tournaments. The first two tournaments are held in November and December of each year while the remaining three tournaments are held in January, February, and March.

After qualifying, players must then purchase a seat in the event. Seats are only available through the official WSOP website and they sell out quickly.

The Main Event begins on July 22nd and runs until July 29th. The first day of play is usually very slow as many of the more experienced players try to get a good seat in the event.

Play picks up on Day 2 as more players enter the tournament and by Day 5 or 6 it is usually full steam ahead. The last day of play is usually very hectic as many players try to cashing in their final hands.
