The original “Dogs Playing Poker” painting is now worth an estimated $100 million according to artnet News. The painting, created in 1934, features two dogs playing poker.
The painting is owned by the descendants of the original owner, a Nevada gambler named Frank McNaught. McNaught bought the painting for $300 from a Los Angeles art dealer in 1934.
McNaught’s descendants have been selling small pieces of the painting off since 2009 for an estimated total of $60 million. In May 2018, a small piece of the painting sold for $46 million at auction.
The current estimate for the entire painting is $100 million.
