Is Blackjack Considered a Poker Game?

Blackjack, like poker, is a game of chance. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible by combining cards that add up to 21. However, there are some key differences between blackjack and poker. For one, blackjack is played with a single deck of 52 cards, whereas poker requires at least three decks of 52 cards.

Additionally, in poker you can make multiple bets (initiating multiple hands), whereas in blackjack only one bet can be placed per hand. Finally, in blackjack the dealer hits cards instead of the player, whereas in poker the player normally deals and gets to hit cards.

Despite these differences, some people consider blackjack to be a form of poker. For example, it is possible to use basic poker strategy (such as holding certain cards) to win at blackjack.

Therefore, it is difficult to say definitively whether blackjack is considered a form of poker or not. Ultimately, this question is up to the individual player and casino.
