Is Poker Back in AC?

Poker has been legal in Atlantic City since 2009, but it is not clear if the game is back in full swing.

In 2009, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) announced that poker was legal in Atlantic City and that it would begin regulating the game. However, there has been no indication that poker is being played in a significant way in the city.

After Christie stepped down as governor, the DGE announced that it would no longer regulate poker and that any existing poker licenses would remain valid. In March 2017, a bill to legalize poker in New Jersey was introduced in the state legislature, but it has not yet been heard.

Since 2009, there have been several reports of criminal activity related to poker games in Atlantic City, including allegations of gambling on NFL games and bribes being offered to casino personnel. It is possible that these problems have led to a decline in interest in poker in the city.
