Russian roulette is a game of chance in which a player spins a cylinder containing six chambers, each of which may hold a different number of bullets. The player chooses one chamber, and then pulls the trigger.
If the bullet is fired from that chamber, the player loses the game. If the bullet is not fired from that chamber, the player wins.
In Kakegurui, a Russian roulette scene occurs midway through the anime. The protagonist Shougo asks his friend Kanae to play Russian roulette with him, as they have been drinking. Kanae initially declines, but Shougo gets her to change her mind by offering to buy her drinks all night.
After spinning the cylinder and choosing a chamber, Kanae pulls the trigger. The bullet does not fire from that chamber, meaning she loses the game.
