What Are Aces in Blackjack?

Aces, or ten cards of the same rank, are one of the most important card combinations in blackjack. Aces are usually considered a “high-card” and are worth 1 point.

When combined with other high cards, aces can boost your total score by up to 10 points.

While aces are valuable, they can also be risky to play. If you’re dealt an Ace and another high card, such as a Six or Ten, you may be able to get away with playing only a low card, since the other player may be more likely to hit if they have a high card and an Ace.

However, if you’re dealt an Ace and two low cards, you’ll likely lose regardless of what the other player does.

So while aces can be very beneficial when played correctly, they also carry some risk. As always, it’s important to play cautious when playing blackjack and keep track of the other player’s hands in order to make informed decisions.
