What Are Blackjack Payouts?

Blackjack is a casino game that pits a player against the dealer, with each hand featuring a different payout. In basic blackjack, the player receives 3 cards and must choose whether to stand (put money back in the pot), stay (take another card and decide whether to stand or put money back in the pot), or hit (put money into the pot and discard one of the cards). The dealer receives 2 cards and must choose to either stand, hit, or draw. If the dealer hits on any of their first three cards, they are awarded a free kick which allows them to re-deal two new cards. If the dealer drAWS two cards and both are higher than any of the player’s hands, they receive a royal flush which pays 10 to 1.

If either player reaches 21 (a full house), they receive automatic winnings. Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games because it’s simple to learn and play, but can still be quite challenging. There are many variations of blackjack, including Spanish blackjack which features different rules for playing with aces (1 through 10), face cards (A through 10), and two through ten (e.g., an ace counts as 1, two through nine count as 2, 10 through Jack counts as 10).
