What Are Card Values in Blackjack?

Blackjack is a popular casino game that involves playing cards against the dealer. The goal of the game is to achieve as high a score as possible by playing cards that are worth more than the cards that the dealer is holding.

There are three types of cards in blackjack: face cards (J,Q,K), which are worth 10 points each; Ace (1), which is worth 1 point; and two through nine (10,J,10,9), which are each worth two points. The values of other cards are generally determined by their rank (2 through 10) and suit (diamonds through clubs).

When playing blackjack, it’s important to keep track of your card values and the dealer’s hand. Your goal is to make as many hands as possible where the sum of your card values is greater than the dealer’s hand.

For example, if you have a 10 and an 8 in your hand, you would want to hit on an 8 or better because that would give you a total of 18 points (10 + 8 = 18). If the Dealer has a 5 and an Ace in their hand, they would want to stay put because that would give them a total of 15 points (5 + Ace = 15).
