What Are Double Down Rules in Blackjack?

Double Down Rules in Blackjack

When it comes to blackjack, there are a few important things to keep in mind. For one, the house edge is always 2.14%.

That means for every 100 hands played, the casino will earn back $2.14.

Also, whenever a player hits on a soft 17 (a total of 21 or less), they are allowed to double their original bet (provided they have enough money left over after paying the initial bet and any additional hand bonuses). If they hit again, they can then triple their original bet (provided they still have enough money left over).

Finally, whenever a player doubles down and gets dealt a card that makes the total value of their hand exceed 21 (a “natural” or “blackjack”), they are then allowed to stand (rather than hit) and lose their original bet plus the amount of their second bet.
