What Are the Best Preflop Hands in Poker?

Preflop hands can be a very important part of a poker player’s arsenal. Knowing which hands to play and when to play them can be the key to winning a hand.

There are a number of factors to consider when playing preflop hands, including position, the other players in the hand, and the odds of winning. Here are five preflop hands that are typically considered strong:

A royal flush: This is by far the best preflop hand available, and it’s usually a safe bet to go all-in with one. Even if you don’t get the flush, you’re still likely to win because of the high odds.

A straight: A straight is also a strong preflop hand, and you should usually go all-in with it unless you have specific reasons not to. If someone else also has a straight, then you may want to call instead.

Two pair: Two pair is usually not as strong as some of the other hands listed here, but it’s still a playable option. If someone else also has two pair, then you may want to fold instead.

Three of a kind: Three of a kind is rarely a good hand on its own, but it can be an excellent second or third card if paired with another good card. You should usually only go all-in with three of a kind if you have an excellent chance of winning the hand.

One pair: One pair is not typically considered much of a threat on its own, but it can be an important part of a winning poker strategy if paired with another good card. You should usually only go all-in with onepair if you have very good odds of winning the hand.
