What Are the Blackjack Side Bets?

The blackjack side bets available at many casinos are as follows:

1) Draw: This bet is placed when the player believes that the dealer will hit a six or another low card. The player must then place another bet equal to the amount of the original bet, plus any side bet amount.

If the dealer hits a blackjack, the player loses the original bet and loses any side bet added. .

2) Hit or Stand: This bet is placed when the player believes that the dealer will either hit or not hit a blackjack.

If the dealer hits a blackjack, the player wins both the original and side bets. If the dealer does not hit a blackjack, then the player loses both bets.

3) Double Down: This bet is placed when the player believes that they will be able to make two more cards in their hand such that they would have a total of at least 21. The player must then place another bet equal to twice the original bet, plus any side bet amount.

If they are able to make two more cards and their new total is above 21, then they win both bets and their original investment is returned. If not, then they lose both bets.

4) Split: This bet is placed when the player believes that they will be able to make two more cards but their new total will not exceed 21 unless one of those cards is an ace or ten which would cause their total to exceed 21. In this case, their new total would be 21 minus whichever card was used to make their split (ace or ten). The player must then place another bet equal to half of their original bet (rounded down), plus any sidebet amount.

If they are able to make two more cards and their new total is 21 or greater, then they win both bets and their original investment is returned.
