Casino blackjack is a game of chance in which a player bets on the number of cards that will be turned over in a given hand. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible by making correct bets and avoiding losing money.
There are several basic rules that must be followed in order to play casino blackjack: the player must place a bet before playing, the bet must be placed on either the Ace or Ten of a given hand, and the player may not double down on any number. In addition, there are a few optional rules that can be employed by some casinos in order to improve the game.
The most common rule is that a player must hit if they are holding an Ace and want to continue playing; if they hit, they mayhit again or stand. If they are holding a Ten, they must stand regardless of what else is held.
If another card is dealt that would make them lose, such as an Eight or Nine, they must either hit or stand depending on their original bet.
Some casinos also allow players to double down on any number up to four times provided that each additional bet equals at least one dollar. If another card is dealt which would ruin the player’s hand, such as an Eight or Nine, they are allowed to re-double only if their original bet was at least two dollars.
