The color value of poker chips is determined by a variety of factors, but the most important ones are the colors of the ink used to print the chips and the colors of the background material on which they are printed. Other factors that can influence the color value of poker chips include the number and type of colors used in the design, and how light or dark those colors appear.
Generally speaking, poker chips with darker colors will have higher color values than chips with lighter colors. For example, blue chips will have a higher color value than green chips, and white chips will have a higher color value than black chips.
Chips with more colors generally have higher color values than those with fewer colors. For example, blue-green-yellow chips will have a higher color value than blue-only chips, and red-orange-green chips will have a higher color value than red-only chips.
There are some exceptions to this rule, however. For example, blackjack and craps chip denominations typically consist only of black or white chips, so color values for those denominations are not affected by the number or type of colors used in the design.
Additionally, certain brands or types of poker chip may be more popular based on their specific color values (for example, hearts are often associated with love and romance), so even though all poker chip denominations contain at least one chip of each color, not all denominations may have equal color value across all brands or types.
