What Are the Different Bets in Roulette?

There are a total of 36 slots in a roulette wheel, numbered from 1 to 36. The numbers 1 through 18 are the red numbers on the wheel, and the numbers 19 through 36 are the black numbers.

The zero slot is green, and there is also a single bet on either black or red, which is placed on the number that corresponds to the player’s selected number.

In American roulette, bets may be placed on any number between 1 and 36 inclusive. Odds for each number are 1 to 18 against the house or casino, depending on the casino.

In European roulette, bets may be placed only on the odd numbers between 1 and 19. Odds for each number are 3 to 2 against the house or casino, depending on the casino.

In Canadian Roulette, bets may be placed only on even-numbered slots numbered 2 through 18. Odds for each number are 2 to 1 against the house or casino, depending on the casino.

In French Roulette (also known as European Roulette), bets may be placed only on odd-numbered slots numbered 1 through 19.
