What Cancels Out a Blackjack?

Canceling out a blackjack is one of the most common mistakes gamblers make. It’s easy to do, and it can cost you a lot of money. Here’s how it works:

You place a bet on either a blackjack or a slot machine. If you’re playing blackjack, you either hit or don’t hit.

If you hit, the dealer sets off all the cards in your hand and gives you another card. If you don’t hit, the dealer sets off only your first card and gives you another card.

If both players have the same number of cards, the player who went second gets to choose which card to set off first. If both players have different cards, then the player with the Lowest number goes first and sets off their card.

Then the other player sets off their card and so on until someone sets off all their cards or somebody busts (has 21 or more).

If somebody busts (has 21 or more), then that person loses whatever bet they made and everything else still stands – including any bets by other players on that round of play. So if there are four players in a game and player A has 20, player B has 10, player C has 15, and player D has 25, if D busts then everyone loses 5 bets – A would lose 20 + 10 + 15 = 45 points; B would lose 10 + 5 = 15 points; C would lose 5 + 15 = 20 points; and Player D would lose 25 points (5 x 2).
