What Do the Side Bets Mean in Blackjack?

Just as in any other casino game, the side bets in blackjack offer players an opportunity to increase their chances of winning. There are three main types of side bets in blackjack: Hit, Stand and Split.

Hit Side Bet: When making a hit side bet, the player bets that they will be able to make a correct guess on the number of cards that will be shown, including the face card (king, queen, or jack). If they are correct, they win the bet and receive their original stake back plus any additional winnings based on the house edge.

If they are incorrect, they lose the bet and don’t receive anything back.

Stand Side Bet: When making a stand side bet, the player bets that they will not be able to make a correct guess on the number of cards that will be shown, including the face card (king, queen, or jack).

Split Side Bet: When making a split side bet, the player bets both sides of their hand (two cards each). If they are correct in both bets, they win double their original stake.

If either bet is incorrect, they lose their original stake only.
