What Does in BETween Mean in Blackjack?

In blackjack, the term “between” is used to refer to the number of cards that are left in the deck after the original two are dealt face down. This number is also known as “the hole”.

In most cases, the dealer will place a chip in the middle of the table, indicating that this is the “in between” or “hole” card.

When two players want to know what card is likely to be next in order, they compare their respective hole cards. If one player’s hole card is higher than the other player’s, then their next card is likely to be higher still.

If both players’ hole cards are equal, then their next card is likely to be lower.
