What Does Payout Mean in Roulette?

In roulette, payout means the amount of money the casino will pay out to its players as a result of their wagers. Payouts vary depending on the game type and the number of bets placed, but they can generally be classified according to how much money is at stake:

Basic payouts: In this category, the casino pays out whatever has been bet on the table. This includes all bets made in both directions (even and odd), regardless of whether they are winning or losing bets.

Bonus payouts: In bonus roulette, the casino may also payout certain types of bets that have a higher payoff than basic bets. For example, if you place a bet on red and black numbers, your bonus payout might be based on any number that comes up between those colors.

Progressive payouts: In some games, such as progressive roulette, the casino pays out an increasing amount of money as each bet is placed. This means that if you bet $1 on red and black numbers, your payout might be $2 if a number comes up in either color, $3 if it’s red and black together, and so on.

Final payouts: Finally, in some games there is no payout for losing wagers (or only very small payouts). This is typically the case with simple slot machines where all winnings are paid out as credits rather than cash.
