The name “roulette” comes from the French word for “wheel.” In modern casino roulette, the wheel has 36 slots that are numbered from one to 36. The player bets on a number within one of the slots. If the player’s bet is correct, the ball will fall into the slot with their chosen number.
If not, it will fall into one of the other slots. The object of roulette is to predict which number the ball will fall into next.
