What Happened to BetOnline?

Since its founding in 2004, BetOnline (BO) has been one of the most popular online sportsbooks in the world. But what happened to BO in the past few years?

In 2014, BetOnline was fined $2 million by the Nevada Gaming Control Board for violating regulations on how bets were placed. In 2015, they were fined $10 million by the U.S.

Department of Justice for operating an illegal online sports betting business. And finally, in 2017, they were indicted by federal prosecutors on charges of conspiracy to operate an illegal sports betting business.

As a result of these fines and indictments, BO has been forced to close its doors and file for bankruptcy. This has left many bettors out of luck and some have even claimed that the closure of BetOnline was part of a larger conspiracy to shut down all online gambling operations in the U.
