What Happens if There’s a Tie in Blackjack?

In blackjack, if two or more players have the same number of cards, the player with the higher-card rank (A, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) wins. If there is a tie for the higher card rank, the player with the next-highest card rank (7, 8 or 9) wins.

If there is still a tie for the highest card rank, then the player with the Lowest card rank (10 or 11) wins.

In some casinos, if two or more players have the same number of cards and there is still a tie for the highest card rank after playing all their cards, then a special rule applies called “push.” Under this rule, the player with the Lowest card rank (10 or 11) is “pushed” one position to the left and another player is “dealt” a new hand of cards.

This process is repeated until one player has a higher card rank than all other players. At that point, that player wins the game.
